Our Story 

We are Brigitte and Lovemore Bere, the co-founders of Men Matters Community Group – London.

 

Our journey began not in a boardroom, but at home – through our marriage, our family, and the way we chose to live. For years, our children celebrated our wedding anniversaries, and guests would often pull us aside quietly and ask, “How have you stayed together so long? What’s your secret?”

 

What began as one conversation turned into two, then three… until we realised there was a growing need for a safe, supportive space where men could open up, heal, and grow. That’s how Men Matters was born – not from theory, but from lived experience, love, and community.

Today, Men Matters Community Group – London is a thriving, inclusive space for men of all backgrounds. We remove barriers. Everyone is welcome.

 

We offer a wide range of support:

    •    Regular events & drop-in sessions

    •    Peer support circles

    •    Men’s mental health workshops

    •    Families mental health workshops

    •    Fatherhood and family-focused conversations

    •    Cultural healing dialogues

    •    Mentoring

    •    Talks and presentations from Doctors and Professionals

    •    Spiritual and faith-informed reflections

 

We’re driven by the values of honesty, healing, brotherhood, cultural pride, and inter-generational support. What makes us unique is our whole-family perspective. We don’t just focus on the man as an individual, but man within the context of his family, community, and culture. 

 

We host Family-inclusive events that we have named “Families Together Days”. 

 

These days are very popular. They bring together men, their wives or partners, children, friends, and even colleagues – celebrating unity, strengthening relationships, and building community cohesion. 

 

We walk with men through their lived experiences, with love and without judgment.
